From Scrambled to Stellar: How to Make the Perfect Omelette

I recently tried making a French omelette and let me tell you, it was fancy! I learned so much about the history and differences between French omelettes and American omelettes, and I'm excited to share some tips with you so that you can make one too.

When it comes to making a French omelette, there are a few things to keep in mind. For example, did you know that salt breaks down the eggs' proteins, which makes the egg more tender? So, be sure to add salt before scrambling your eggs.

Another tip is to use butter - a lot of it! In most recipes, a tablespoon of butter is used when the egg is scrambled, another tablespoon is added to the pan, and even more is added on the outside of the omelette once it's plated to add a nice buttery shine.

Use a smaller grate of cheese, as it helps with melting and just looks nicer. Also, use medium-high heat and continue to mix the egg in the pan. When it's about 85% done cooking, bring it to one side of the pan and fill it with your desired fillings. Then, fold the thinner side over, tap on the pan a bit to bring the thicker side lip off of the pan so you can fold it better over there.

My favorite fillings are tomato, cheese, and bacon - that's TCB for short. But, there are so many fillings to choose from, so let me know below what your favorite omelette fillings are. One of the most important tips is to be patient with yourself. It takes practice to make a perfect omelette, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't turn out the way you wanted it to. Just keep trying and you'll get the hang of it!

Thanks for reading, friend. I hope these tips help you make a delicious French omelette.
