I've always been someone who needs a goal in mind to stay motivated and driven. And I know a lot of you out there are the same way. So, let's talk about how we can set goals that are achievable and realistic, even during a pandemic.

First off, I want to say that it's important to put less pressure on yourself in terms of timelines and external dependencies. We can't control everything that's going on in the world right now, but we can control our own actions and attitudes. That being said, I still think we can be productive and work towards our goals, no matter what's going on around us. Last year, I made a list of resolutions or goals for myself, and while some of them were affected by the pandemic, I was still able to accomplish some of them. For example, I wanted to learn the piano, but I realized that it wasn't something I was ready to commit to at this point in my life. So, I moved it down on my bucket list. And speaking of bucket lists, if you're interested in how I organize mine, I'll link that in the description below.

Another goal I had was to train my dog, Leo, more consistently. He's a good boy, but he loves his treats a little too much. So, my solution is to be more consistent with his training. Wish me luck!

This year, I've decided to set quarterly goals for myself. That way, I can check in with myself regularly and adjust my actions accordingly. My first quarterly goal is to improve my Spanish. It's something I've always wanted to do, but it wasn't on my list last year. I'm thinking about doing some kind of immersion simulation, but we'll see.

My second goal is to visit Glacier National Park with my sister and my boyfriend, Austin. I love planning trips, but there's a lot that goes into it, so I'm making it a quarterly goal.

Third, I want to work towards getting a flat stomach. Not just because it'll look good (although that's a nice bonus), but because I want to do what I can to avoid diabetes, which runs in my family. Staying active and eating healthy is key.

Lastly, I want to organize my media collection. I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to this stuff, but I love having everything in its place for easy searching. Plus, it's gotten a bit out of control this past year.

Along with these goals, I have some other things in mind, like upgrading my car, lowering my waste, and reading more books. Speaking of which, I'll link my book recommendations in the description below. Of course, I usually like to add in an international trip to my goals, but given the uncertainty of the world right now, I'm calling it a stretch goal. If I do get to travel, I'd love to go to Portugal and Spain. Fingers crossed!

So, what are your goals for this year?
