Practicing Spanish Conversation with my Parents
Both my mom and dad speak Spanish, and yet I was raised with English as a first language, and no Spanish at all apart from the high school Spanish that is forgotten (by most) within a few years. I’ve been learning Spanish since the beginning of the pandemic, and now comes the moment when I can actually talk to my parents in Spanish. To some level, at least.
Habit Stacking to Include Flossing | Atomic Habits
James Clear. That is all. Almost. There is such wisdom in these pages that goes much deeper than simply changing habits, which as it turns out isn’t that simple at all. Or it’s not as intuitive and as frustrating as relying on one’s own self-discipline. At some point, adding and removing various habits creates the person that we have always strived to be, and in that way we can be anything we want to be.
Stress Caused by a Dirty Room
Coming back from a trip means getting back into the flow of everyday life, which looks different for everyone. My most recent return to Austin felt like a whirlwind because of all of the things that I felt like I had to do immediately upon my arrival. That resulted in a disaster of a room which induces stress. What to do…
Taking the FAA’s Drone License Exam
I finally decided, almost a year after having crashed my drone into a tree, that I am ready to study and take the FAA’s drone license exam. It’s expensive to take, and more expensive if failed, because payment is due each and every time it’s taken. Will a license granted by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) help my confidence after the traumatic experience?
Nostalgic Everyday Items at My Mom’s
There are items all around us all of the time, usually dismissed because of repeated use. And then there are other items that almost seem to blindside you with the impact that they have made in years past. This is about the latter.
finishing duolingo stories
Duolingo Stories is one of the features within the platform, but starting on a language track in Duolingo can be intimidating. I don’t know how many times I’ve started and stopped after having ruined a long streak, causing me to get discouraged. But Duolingo Stories is another issue entirely, in my humble opinion.
Bloopers Reel #2
Who doesn't love bloopers? And what's better than a blooper than a compilation of bloopers?! Anyway, this is the second video of compilations.
Never Enough Leo | The Struggle to Stay Present
Leo’s birthday just passed in February, which makes him now twelve (human) years old. I have a difficult time dealing with mortality, in general, but seeing my aging best friend who will always be that little puppy I picked up at the adoption center has been especially difficult. Aging is SO natural. It’s a part of life, but that doesn’t stop it from being an incredibly challenging time when I think about our future together. Time is a limited gift, and so we must enjoy it now.
Bloopers Reel #1 | ADVENTUREPANTSMCGEE
I’ve had a lot of fun creating content over the past year and wanted to share the bloopers, which are at the end of almost all of my videos. There’s a lot that goes into each video, but there’s enough time for goofing off and playing around, especially when working with family and friends. Here’s an ode to the past year and a giant thanks to everyone that I’ve worked with thus far.
Habits of Highly Effective People | The Interdependent Ones
There are three independent habits and four interdependent habits within the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen Covey. If you want to work better in a family, or in a team, then these habits are for you. A few weeks ago I did a video on the first three habits of this book: be proactive, begin with the end in mind, and put first things first. But no man is an island, and these last four habits focus on what it means to be part of a team, and how to work more effectively in that team. One of my favorite ideas in the book is that you can be efficient with things, but don't try being efficient with people.
Guadalupe River Tubing | A Texas Activity
It’s been quite a year! Not even the one that I was expecting, but reflecting on this past year, I’d like to share my schedule, how long it takes to make one video, the support that I have had, and earnings. I feel like I’ve grown a lot over the past year, and have gained a lot of insight into the people that I surround myself with (in a good way - thank goodness).

I Passed the Pilot Institute TRUST Test. You Can Too!
I had no idea that I needed to pass an FAA test to obtain a license in order to fly a drone. Seemed like an awful lot of trouble to just fly a little drone around for fun. As I flew one over the tennis courts, my opponent mentioned it off-handedly, and I freaked out. I had to pass the test, but I hadn’t taken an actual test in ages.
Simulating Language Immersion with YouTube
If you're learning Spanish, use YouTube as a tool to learn Spanish! I'll explain several reasons why, show a few tips, and share my favourite channels.
Malcolm Gladwell Outliers Review
I wanted to do a review on Malcolm Gladwell Outliers because I recently read it and wanted to say and review thoughts that I had throughout the book, as well as how it can change your view on success for the better.
Changing My Opinion on Videogaming
Changing my opinion on videogaming didn't happen overnight. My opinion changed gradually, probably over many years, but it did. There is a benefit to videogames.
